Hi, thanks for all the info, and I do have a question. Am I correct in thinking that what married women who have taken the names of their spouse (I guess that would apply to men who have done the same) need their marriage *license* and not their marriage certificate? I'm almost sure that the latter is what I took in to get my DL with a star, and even though I had a fistful of other documents, they told me they couldn't do it. I believe I took in what the minister signed at the church, and they wanted some legal form from the state. I hope I remember where I put all of those papers.
Also, do they return the birth certificate? Given the current state of federal employees being given the boot for no reason and the skullduggery going on around and after that, I'm a bit leery of turning over a document like that, not knowing in whose hands it may end up.
It is the marriage certificate. A marriage license gives you permission to marry, a marriage certificate is the document that confirms you are married.
They mail back all of your documentation in a separate packet from the passport. So it's very common to receive the passport and your documents in the mail on different days.
I'll have to see what the passport site says compared to what getting my started DL is (which I still haven't done). Not planning on leaving the country any time soon, so when I realized the deadline was coming up, I figured I might as well wait until there weren't lines out the door of the BMV.
Got here from your Facebook page, possibly via HCR. How's the delivery time on your rocks these days?
About 2-3 weeks. Working my way through a large surge. If you put in an order in the next hour or so, I should have enough clay to make them in the batch I'm finishing up right now.
